The Next Experiment is the continuation of the CEO Experiment, which have been playing active since January 2015. Previously we have shared the stage with International top acts including Cory Henry duo, Mark Guilliana Quintet, Christian Scott and Tom Rainey.

Lately before before Cote Calmet’s (drummer) departure to Spain, we played with the extraordinaire Kurt Rosenwinkel to a full house at the Sugar Club in September 2017.

Now with the addition of Barcelona’s star drummer Gonzalo Del Val, we have performed some venues, including Cork Jazz Festival in 2018 with Michael Buckley on Tenor Sax, Arthur’s in December 2018 and Billy Byrnes in 2019 among some other gigs.

The music is virtuosic, very energetic and groove oriented, which have allowed us to be offered many important gigs, from Jazz Festivals to opening slots for World famous Jazz acts, as it suits all types of audiences.

This time, we have a very special guest also form Barcelona, Saxophonist Giani Gagliardi, who spends most of his time between New York and Barcelona.

His debut album, which includes the extraordinaire Gilad Hekselman has been described as “the most impressive debut… Gagliardi is now a rising star in the Brooklyn Jazz scene”. Rochester City Newspaper

“Gagliardi is a wonderful player and composer with a unique lyrical voice. Here on his debut album he shines with a first rate band. His playing has a natural, unhurried, organic quality. His solos unfold very naturally and beautifully. Looking forward to hearing more from this significant new player on the NYC jazz scene. “
    David Berkman.
For this occasion, we will be performing mainly original tunes, which emphasis on South American, Spanish and modern Jazz.

Cormac Larkin (Irish Times) ahead of our performance (as a trio) at the Sofa Sessions in Kilkenny wrote:

“Don’t miss this opportunity to hear three virtuoso musicians up close and in-the-round from the comfort of our sofas. Forget what you know about Jazz. Next Experiment are taking creative music into new spaces!”

Previous reviews (as CEO Experiment) includes Bray Jazz Festival 2017 from Ian Paterson from All about Jazz:

“Through focus, perseverance and hard gigging, CEO Experiment has arrived at a fully formed sound and a pretty irresistible one at that. If this stirring BJF gig—a highlight of BJF 2017—was anything to go by, the quartet stands on the brink of even greater successes.”
