We are delighted to be hosting The Conor Guilfoyle Octet once again at Bagots Hutton LIVE following on from a tremendous debut concert, for both the venue and the ensemble. The room was overflowing with people which in turn lead to an incredible atmostphere. The music was superbly performed and it was certainly the best recieved concert in 2017.

Conor Guilfoyle is one of Ireland’s top jazz drummers with more than 30 years experience as both a performer and an educator. As a founding member of the jazz programme at Newpark Music centre it was only right that he should go there to find musicians for his new octet. All are graduates and are some of the finest young musicians out working on the scene today.

The music is a look back to the 1950’s to a style often associated with the west coast of America known as “Cool Jazz”. With arrangments by Gerry Mulligan, Dave Pell and Gil Evans among others expect a night of swinging tunes played by great musicians for both your listening or dancing pleasure.
