12-15 May 2016, Hungarian tales and Celtic legends

 

Hungarian Culture Days 2015 was the most popular edition in the 4 year history of the festival. The high quality programs were attended by approximately 700 people over the span of four days. The event also received a highlight in the news on the Hungarian nationwide public television.

Our main goal in 2016 is to present interesting facets of Hungarian and Irish culture through the world of tales and legends to local audiences in an easily accessible way. Most programs will be presented both in English and Hungarian.

 

Thursday, 12 May 2016 – Opening Ceremony (by invitation)

Venues: Wood Quay & Filmbase. Reception: Canapés & Light refreshments

  • Dr Angelika Kodai-Pintér and Szabolcs Pintér – “Méhkeréki” Hungarian folk dance
  • Amica Voce Chamber Choir – Hungarian and Irish choral songs
  • Zsuzsanna Bogdánné Kálló and Mihály Magyarics (violin) – Hungarian and Irish folk songs
  • Marty Mulligan – Irish spoken word artist from Mullingar (Midland): The Myth of Sun God Lugh

Hungarian Culture Days is an annual, vibrant 4-day cultural festival in Dublin, showcasing the very best in Hungarian culture, art and heritage and connecting with the Hungarian community in Ireland, while building valuable new connections with Irish people and communities. Admission Free but Ticketed & on a First Come First Served basis — please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
