Jewish Food Festival unites culture, community

Food brings more people, and cultures, together than sports, concerts and movies combined.

For the past four years, the Sisterhood of Temple Emanu-El has taken this idea of unity in food and created a festival to bring the Tuscaloosa community into Jewish culture. Sunday will mark the fourth Jewish Food Festival.

The Sisterhood’s event began as a spin-off from the Jewish Film Festival, which had a buffet on opening night. Although the film festival ended, women of the temple decided to use the success of the starter course to create the dining event as a fundraiser, and as an invitation to the wider community.
