Festival to celebrate French culture 2017

An upcoming festival celebrating the diversity of Francophone communities across the world, will seek to promote French culture through discussions, music, theatre and art shows.

The week-long Francophonie Festival, set to begin from March 16 at Alliance Francaise here, is aimed at marking the coming together of around 63 governments of countries where the French language is spoken.

Les Rendez-vous de la Francophonie (RVF) is part of the events surrounding the Journée Internationale de la Francophonie (March 20), which is organized every year around the world to promote the French language and its numerous cultural expressions!

In 2016, more than 2500 activities took place across Canada. Community gatherings, multicultural meetings, ceremonies, shows, singing, theatre, poetry, film viewings, word games, contests, educational activities, essentially; events to provide an excuse to make merry.
